About Us

Pace Community Church, or PCC, began Easter Sunday 1998, and is the first purpose-driven church modeled in the Pace area.  It is Biblically-based, inter-denominational, and dedicated to the teaching and preaching of biblical truths and to strengthening your family.

Our Services

Our Sunday services are dedicated to reaching those people who are not actively involved in church. We provide a relaxed, casual atmosphere where you may safely attend. There is a band on stage featuring guitars, drums, keyboard, and other instruments. Coffee is served. Dress is comfortable (most people dress in a business casual manner). There are chairs rather than pews. These features are designed to help overcome negative stereotypes like, "church is boring . . . irrelevant . . . pushy . . . trying to get my money."

The music is designed to facilitate worship among believers, yet is enjoyable for everyone, with a modern sound.  Most of the songs are sung in the "first person," meaning they are words of adoration sung directly to God in a "vertical" manner - much like a prayer.

The teaching is Biblically-based and focuses on needs and issues that are common to both believers and unbelievers alike. There is a strong emphasis on life-application and being a "doer" of the Word.

Our Affiliation
We are an inter-denominational Community Church, welcoming people from a variety of backgrounds.
What does "COMMUNITY CHURCH" mean?  It means we are made up of people just like you from within your own community. Being a Community Church gives people a sense of ownership because it emerged from within their own community and has their needs and interests in mind. It also means that we are not controlled by any denominational hierarchy. As such, we are a sovereign body of believers and are self-governing.

Our Beliefs
Our beliefs are the same as most mainline Christian churches. We hold to nine essential beliefs (which are fully explained in What We Believe).  Beyond those essential beliefs, we at PCC allow for liberty and diversity as you "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling . . . because it is God who works in you" (Phil. 2:12-13).

Our Vision
Our vision is to become one of the strongest and most vibrant churches in the area that penetrates and impacts the entire community. Our vision is fully explained in CLASS 101 - Discovering Church Membership.

Our Purpose for Existence
All churches are driven by something; traditions, strong personalities, programs, or denominational hierarchies. PCC is a purpose-driven church. Our sole purpose for existence can be expressed in a single, simple sentence based on two scriptures: "We exist to obey the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission" (Matt. 22:37-40; Matt. 28:19-20)

Everything we do at PCC is defined by these scriptural purposes of God. Our style of ministry, our structure, our strategy, programs, and atmosphere we try to create in the services are all done in light of our purpose statement.

Our purpose statement not only defines what we do, it also defines the things we do NOT do. We do not allow ourselves to become distracted by other good but less important ideas and purposes. We want to keep the main thing the main thing.

Our Emphasis
We see reaching others for Christ as more important than having our own needs met.  PCC is clearly focused on reaching unchurched people for Christ, baptizing them, and discipling them for ministry service.  We believe that as we reach out to others first, we are ministered to by God Himself and our own needs are met.

A Brief History of the Pastor and His Family
Ronnie Christian, a Santa Rosa County native, pastors PCC.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology and a Master's Degree in Christian Education.  Prior to pastoring PCC he, together with his wife Renae, pastored two denominational churches over a 20-year period, one in the Pensacola area and one near Gainesville, FL.   Renae currently serves PCC as our Worship Pastor and Youth Pastor.

Ronnie and Renae have been married since 1981 and have two grown sons, Jonathan and Nathan, ages 24 & 21.  Jonathan graduated from UWF w/a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Finance Summer 2008 and married Jamie Rhae Lewis on May 23rd this year - they are enjoying newlywed life here in the Pace area.  Nathan attends the University of West Florida.

A Brief History of PCC
The church's founding pastor is Ronnie Christian. It began with seven people as the nucleus, meeting in the pastor's home. The first public service was held Easter Sunday, 1998, with seventy people in attendance.

Non-Traditional
We are non-traditional. The Bible is our only tradition.

Ministry Teams
Instead of organizing around conventional departments, we  organize ourselves around self-directed, purpose-based ministry teams. These teams combined will fulfill the total scope of the ministry of our church.

There are many areas where you can put your talents, interests, and spiritual gifts into service. Ministry teams provide opportunities to connect people relationally, grow in Christ-likeness, and contribute to the work of the church.

Small Groups
Small groups are a vital part of PCC. Much of what we do is done in a small group environment.  We have small groups that form around fellowship, recreation, spiritual growth, Bible study, service groups, and support groups.  We believe they follow the New Testament pattern of ". . breaking bread from house to house" (Acts 2:46). We encourage everyone to join small groups which are offered on semester cycles throughout the year.

Membership At PCC

Membership is something we take very seriously. We offer a seminar to those who are interested - CLASS 101, Discovering Membership.  It is an "information" class which provides an insider's look at PCC to all who are curious. It is also a requirement for those who wish to become members. Topics include: Our Salvation, Our Statements, Our Strategy, and Our Structure.  Upon completion of this seminar, those who elect to join PCC are then treated to a formal banquet where they are welcomed into membership.

Membership at PCC counts for something. People who are willing to learn our purposes, strategies, and philosophy of ministry demonstrate the kind of commitment that membership implies. Plenty of churches offer meaningless memberships to their people, but we want those at PCC to feel like they belong to something - because they do!

In a nutshell, we are here to help you:
FIND GOD
FIND A FRIEND
FIND A MINISTRY

We are committed to meeting the needs of the total person. It is our desire to provide opportunities for you socially, recreationally, and spiritually. This "total person" ministry style works - because it helps God work in you!
